"In March, alone, the legal fees were $6,827.50."
Kerry's e-mail are rare, but always special. His bipolar rants often include dramatic phrases such as "...making so many erroneous and horrendous claims about me" and "...your claims and accusations ...border on absurdity" and "...your threats, accusations and flaming rhetoric." You'll notice he never responds to claims and makes no effort to disprove them on the basis of documentable information - he prefers to simply whine about claims he refuses to answer to.Bleeding the Trust With Frivolous Billable Hours This particular e-mail is evidence and testimony that Kerry P. Burtis is a party to an on-going effort by Eden Rose Brown and P. Freeman Green to rack up as many billable hours as possible (at up to $350.00 per hour). Kerry claims that he wrote out a check to Eden Rose Brown for $6,827.50 in one month alone - and since Eden Rose Brown and P. Freeman Brown refuse to answer, acknowledge or respond to e-mails from any of the other ten beneficiaries, one can only imagine what it is they are doing to justify such usurious fees... Really now, how much time and effort does it honestly take to do NOTHING? It's a scam, pure and simple. Dear Rob,
Ever since our initial conversation in January, you have taken an extremely aggressive approach in your “truth-seeking” and have made so many implied and direct threats of litigation, prosecution, etc., that I have been advised to move very carefully and methodically in responding to your requests for information and verification and to carefully continue to follow the laws regarding trust management. There were many things you didn't understand and information that I didn't have on hand when we met in January and I encouraged you to contact the attorneys for further clarification--NOT to attack them, as well, because they just weren't acting fast enough for you. Do you have any idea how much your personal campaign is costing the trust and the beneficiaries? In March, alone, the legal fees were $6,827.50--the vast majority of which was due to time spent reviewing, researching, discussing, and responding to emails from you. As for the truth, you have been told several times that an itemized accounting of the trust administration since Liz's passing will be provided to all of the beneficiaries with the closing of the Trust. You have also asked for an accounting of the Trust since its creation in July of 2008. As we have stated, this is not required by the Trust and, as it would take more time and resources, any costs associated with this extra accounting should not be charged against those beneficiaries who are not interested in this information. Likewise, your claims and accusations of pre-Trust activities go far beyond the parameters of the Trust and even border on absurdity. So, how about some of that “love of family” you speak so much about in giving me, your own brother, the benefit of the doubt. You have nothing to lose by backing off your threats, accusations and flaming rhetoric, and much to gain. Kerry. |
